Where the combination of Geo-Way and the possibility of importing drawings via DXF and DWG formats is not enough, Optima has developed specific solutions with special functions and macros for the glass sector. For advanced technical drawing, we offer solutions ranging from the acquisition of a template with a camera (Scan-Way) to a specific module for the production of doors or shower boxes (Doors-Way) to complete 2D CAD tools (Cad-Way) and CAM products for vertical or horizontal working centers.
The use of vector programs specific to glass production allows better control of the special processing features of machines in this sector. Functions that would be complicated in a general-purpose design program have been integrated into specific functions that lead to the desired result with a single click.
Cad-Way, for example, includes automatic functions for the geometric reconstruction of a polyline starting from a sequence of points detected by a laser, the “Doctor” function that checks the external profile and automatically corrects any irregularities found. In our CAD there are functions that allow the reduction of the number of entities to be processed to eliminate or at least limit the risk of errors during execution on the machine and functions to correct broken tangents or discontinuities.
All new numerical control machines are now equipped with specific CAD products, but often the work is left to the operator in production who should be doing something else instead. The inclusion in the office of a simple and intuitive centralized CAD system that can either manage the drawings received from customers and check and correct them or that allows new ones to be created and then sorted to the various machines, is much closer to the concepts of “Industry 4.0” that are today essential for proper work organization and planning.
