Optimization for racks:
an incredible increase in productivity!
The Rack-Way module is able to organize the entire production using a set of intermediate racks (called production racks) in order to obtain the desired results when loading the shipping rack. It allows the use of traditional “A” shaped racks, “harp” racks or mixed modes using harp racks for glass up to a certain size or quantity and traditional racks for windows or other special glass.
Starting from the loading sequence foreseen at the end of the production cycle, Rack-Way is able to create all the intermediate sequences up to the initial cutting phase, trying to use as few racks as possible. By means of a specific optimization algorithm it is then able to guarantee an excellent optimization result in terms of waste while maintaining the planned sequence. In this way, the glass is always ordered and there is no need to manually re-order the glass during assembly, thus reducing the risk of scratches and loss of time.
It also makes it possible to limit the number of racks to be used at the same time, which is useful if there is little space available for storing glass.
